Reflection & Conviction
Before discussing money, children, or where you might live, it helps to begin with how the relationship actually feels. These questions encourage you to consider peace, emotional safety, authenticity, fulfillment, and whether you truly admire the person you may marry.
- When you're with your partner, how do you generally feel?
- How emotionally safe do you feel with your partner?
- How ready do you feel, in your bones, for the commitment of marriage?
- How certain are you that this is the person you want to build a life with?
- How much of your decision is coming from love vs. pressure (family, timing, fear)?
- What first made you believe this person could be your spouse?
- What is the quiet doubt you rarely let yourself say out loud?
- If nothing changed about them, could you happily spend the next 40 years together?
Take these first eight quietly. There are no right answers, only honest ones.
